iPOD Nano Take Apart Guide

Step 1
You will need the following tools for this take apart
  • A Small Phillips Screw Driver
  • A Case Opener Tool (Which can be Purchased from the webpage)

Using the case opener tool run it all the way around the case which will loosen the metal shell from the plastic front bezal.

  • Step 2
This shows the metal back removed from the plastic front bezal.
    Step 3
You will now need to remove the 3 phillips screws that are holding the motherboard. Refer to the 3 red pointer lines. Keep track of the screws as the 2 lower ones are the same but different from the one in the middle of the unit.
    Step 4
There is a ribbon on the motherboard down by the main charger connector. There is a small black latch on the back of the connector you need to lift up prior to removing the ribbon cable. Once the latch is up the ribbon will slide out.
    Step 5
In the middle of the motherboard is one more ribbon cable that will need to be removed from the connector. There is a small black latch on the back of the connector you need to lift up prior to removing the ribbon cable. Once the latch is up the ribbon will slide out.
    Step 6
You can now remove the screen from the front plastic case. There is some double sided tape or glue that is holding it to the front plastic so you might need to pull a little bit.
    Step 7
The screen is now removed and you can just follow the steps in reverse to put the unit back together.
